Woodworking Without Jointer Or Planer

woodworking without jointer or planer

After the glue dries, remove the clamps and run the assembly through the planer -- crowned face up. continue machining until the planer flattens the entire top face of the board. then, flip the workpiece over and run it through the planer again to flatten that face. use your tablesaw to rip away the runners and square the edges.. The jointer makes wood flat, and the planer makes wood parallel (and thinner). you eventually need to do both (make it flat and parallel) but there are ways to accomplish or work around one without the other.. With some simple jigs, a planer and a tablesaw can do anything a jointer can do. a planer is the single power tool i wouldn't ever be without. also the size of the project doesn't really matter. all woodworking projects start with getting a board flat and square..
